The past couple of years have been spent working on short animated films for use in schools across Merseyside to highlight children's awareness of potential online dangers such as bullying, grooming etc. Below are several examples of the type of illustrations required for this project inc frames from one of the films plus storyboards which will be used as the basis for role-playing exercises within the classroom, the final frame being left blank to encourage the children to add to the sequence.

Another medium I love to use regularly is charcoal which I find to be a wonderfully expressive way to create art! Without the shackles of colour charcoal opens the door for exploring and exploiting the natural tonal contrasts within our visual grasp. The following two pieces show examples of this in two completely different aspects.
Charcoal, A3
(This piece was a wedding present for my sister who got married earlier this year, congratulations sis!)
Cthulhu in the Outback

'Heroes'
Acrylic on Canvas, 2 x 2 1/2 ft
This was a private commission for a customer who wanted his son dressed as Superman surrounded by his favourite heroes as they face down a couple of Daleks. For a superhero fanboy like me this was a dream commission and exactly the sort of thing I would've loved to have had done for me when I was a child!
'Matchbox Man'
Acrylic on wood
This is another private commission and was also a lot of fun to paint but in a different way, the challenge this time was to re-create the image of an old Pilot matchbox onto a piece of wood but with a three-dimensional look to it.
Jordi & Sherlock
A commission from a client who wanted a painting featuring his daughter Jordi alongside Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock.
